This metaphor describes today’s metal cutting process. The “speed limit” set by the tool insert manufacturer can often not be accomplished when cutting in tough materials. By using very skilled operators, the cutting companies try to move forward by going slow and being extremely careful. The driver must be fully alert at all times and focus on the mission, “staying on the road.” If not, a crash is evident.
