The Acticut® ATD 1XX series of Adaptively Tuned Dampers provides an easy solution to the dynamic challenges found in machines and structures. The tool clamping and machine foundation should be rigid. In reality, that is not always the case and thus the tool holder is not the only challenge to the chatter process. By using the Acticut® ATD series of dampers, an appropriate level of rigidity can be easily applied to a point in the machine and thus decrease the harmful vibration levels.
The Acticut® ATD system makes a great addition to the Acticut® Smart Cutting Tool Holder. The Acticut® tool holder will perform very well and give excellent results given that the base of the machine is rigid and that the clamping is sufficiently rigid. If the machine contains system resonances within the key frequency range of operation, the Acticut® ATD will easily resolve this – a great additional value.
The Acticut® ATD can also be used on rotating tools and thus create a cutting system with less vibrations.
